a teenagers view of heaven - Brian Moore's Essay(1997)

Its a very thought provoking essay just wanted to share it with you peeps. Please Do Read. Very touching.

Brian Moore's Essay: The Room...(1997)

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read 'Girls I have liked.' I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.

This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named 'Friends' was next to one marked 'Friends I have betrayed.' The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird 'Books I Have Read,' 'Lies I Have Told,' 'Comfort I have Given,' 'Jokes I Have Laughed at .' Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: 'Things I've yelled at my brothers.' Others I couldn't laugh at: 'Things I Have Done in My Anger', 'Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.' I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.

Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.

When I pulled out the file marked 'TV Shows I have watched', I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.

When I came to a file marked 'Lustful Thoughts,' I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.

I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!' In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.

Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it.. The title bore 'People I Have Shared the Gospel With.' The handle was brighter than those around it,seemed newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.

And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.

No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.

He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me.

Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. 'No!' I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was 'No, no,' as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.

He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, 'It is finished.' I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.

'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'-Phil. 4:13 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.'

Last Sunday @ KLCC

After browsing through the entire education fair, we went to Guardian to get some stuff and to fill up those paddington bear points and finally I've gotten my PADDINGTON BEAR IN A YELLOW RAIN COAT. *GIGGLES* XD

After that we went roaming around looking what's new at KLCC.
Then it was already close to dinner time mom and me was thinking what to eat.
First we thought of heading to Isetan to get some groceries and go home and cook.
But after that we had a second thought because we were already tired, hungry and resulted that we were lazy to cook. XD
So mom had this fabulous idea. She wanted sushi. So we headed to SAKAE SUSHI.

now there's an interactive screen to order your sushi. the busy kitchen.

mom waiting for the sashimi to come.
Here it is... ^^

Happy mom eating and smiling with her mouth full. XD
Me and mom's personal favourite. mango wrapped with crab roe and soft crab. ^^

Soft Crab Frap. ^^ Nice and crunchy.
the presentation looks so nice even though its only salmon wrapped in rice it taste good ^^
After eating a whole lot. My dessert. Rice flour balls each colour has a different flavour inside.
This is the amount of food we had.
After dinner, we were heading home by LRT and we caught sight of 2 ladies dressed in Chinese costume giving out some small packets from her basket. IT'S A FORTUNE COOKIE. XD
Mom couldn't resist she had to cam-whore as well.

Then while walking towards the LRT station. We stopped by at PDI for some shopping. Since it was a sale and I came out with 8 tops. XD

When we got home since there's only ONE fortune cookie mom and I decided to break it together.

And it says

You are next in line for promotion in your firm. Given with a lucky number 5118.
Well the promotion thing is not going to work because mom is the boss and I'm not working. =.=

finally the end of sleepless nights

Lately I have been having sleepless nights not because of work stress
BUT IT'S BECAUSE OF A CAT!

Yea... A CAT ruin my sleep nearly every single night.

Yea now your wondering what this cat did to me huh???

Well at the middle of the night some neighbour left their balcony door open and the cat starts wondering around at night on the roof of my balcony! It doesn't walk silently! Instead its playing "CATCHING" running around with another cat friend of its. So try to imagine 2 cats running on a stretch of aluminium roof and MEOW and HISSING the whole early hours from 2am till 4am!
And worst thing the next morning it decides to leave an unwelcoming gift in my balcony... POOP!

I was like praying GOD PLEASE MAKE THIS CAT GO SOMEWHERE ELSE OR JUST DON'T DISTURB ME!

And guess what! My prays have been answered.
2 nights ago while I was burning the midnight oil guess who I heard crying!
THE CAT! On top of the power line on at the corridor. STUCK... WAKAKA XD
Crying and asking me to bring it down!
I was like CRY all you want I'm not going to bring you down! You need some DISCIPLINE!
Well call me bad but this cat needs training!
So I left it up there till the next morning someone was kind enough to bring it down. Since then it never step foot on my balcony again! WAKAKA
THANK YOU GOD
p/s: I didn't put the cat up there! It got up there by itself and didn't know how to get down. Like cats climb up the tree don't know how to get down.

Here are some pictures of it stuck...

The cat spotted me from my window

now its acting kesian and CRYING

And it gave up because it knows I'm not going to help it down!

A Song. A Prayer. For All. For Hope. For Peace.

Everyday we see calamities, injustice, war, death, sufferings and sadness throughout the world.
It's a sad beginning of the new year when mankind has lost its sanity and brought chaos to this world we love and call home.

For a change, we should pray that God will be our guide in our daily doings, lead us to a right path and to be a better person. Clear our minds of corruption. Care for Gods Creations. Soften the hearts of the wicked. And bring new hope, love and peace to all.

Let us pray through this beautiful song called "The Prayer" (translation)

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer
As we go our way

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your Grace
To a place where we'll be safe

La luce che to dai
(The light that you give us)
I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore resterò
(Will stay in our hearts)
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarchi che
(Reminding us)
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei
(That in my prayer)
Nella mia preghiera
(You are an everlasting star)
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'è
(There's so much faith)
When shadows fill our day

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe.

Sognamo un mondo senza più violenza
(We dream of world with no more violence)
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
(A world of justice and hope)
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
(Grasp your neighbors hand)
Simbolo di pace e di fraternità
(As a symbol of peace and brotherhood.)

La forza che ci dai
(The strength that you give us)
We ask that life be kind
E'il desiderio che
(Is the wish)
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amore
(That everyone may find love)
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro a sé
(In and around himself)
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Needs to find a place,
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

E la fede che
(And the faith that)
Hai acceso in noi
(You've lit inside us)
Sento che ci salverà
(I feel will save us )
