I received this email from a friend and it says... "BEWARE OF PUSH POCKETS"
The term pick pockets actually means somebody a.k.a thief that picks out of your pocket a.k.a stealing from your pockets.
So what is a "Push Pocket" ?
It's the reversed of a Pick Pocket with a twist. Take for an example:
Somebody slips something into your pocket or bag, like a mobile phone or a wallet with an ID card and a few cash in it WITHOUT you knowing it. And a few minutes later, that somebody a.k.a "the owner" confronts YOU "the thief" and he makes a big commotion about it.
You, caught unaware, are then pulled aside by "the owner" for a settlement. You are intimidated and threatened that if you do not pay up, the police will be brought in.
If you pay up, "the owner" lets you go. If not, the police will be brought in. Besides that, coincidentally there's a witness a.k.a "the owners accomplice" saw you steal it.
So this is another extortionist operating in day light. And, the worst part of the whole scenario is that unless you pay the ' quoted settlement ' money, they will put you in real trouble by calling the police not only that the "real culprit" gets back its belongings and the "real victim" (i.e could be anyone of us) is thrown in the lock up by the police and charged in court for something you didn't do.
So much of taking precaution of not getting picked pocket when you get victimised as the thief and get robbed at the same time...
SO WHAT CAN WE ACTUALLY DO ABOUT IT?
any suggestions and comments?
