sarcasm from a newspaper man

Got up early this morning to go and buy newspaper from the stall with mom then go have breakfast at the kopitiam.

So we approach the newspaper man (he recently got rich)

mom asked him: "You don't like me giving you coins for the newspaper, is it?"
(my neighbour told us that the man complains of us giving him RM 2.50 coins)

newspaper-man says: "You know I find it very FUNNY you give me coins all the time!" (with a sarcastic look on his face)

Mom and I was stunned and don't know what to say. (we are thinking what is so funny about giving coins???!!! It is money, Right???)
He's like looking at us up and down like we got our money from begging or picking it up from the street.

So Mom said: "You don't want coins never mind, I give you paper money loh." (mom pulled a bunch of money from her pocket and payed)

Then an auntie came by and said: "Wah...!! give you coins also you don't want ah??? If it was me I'll happily accept it mah... IT'S MONEY!"

Newspaper man said: "If like that don't buy newspaper from me la!!!"

Mom said: "Ok loh..."

Newspaper man said: "Make sure you keep your word!"

Mom said: "Don't worry..."

(He doesn't know my mom once she says something she means it)

So the newspaper man lost a customer today and by the looks of the other auntie she wouldn't want to buy from him also. (he's not the only one who sells newspaper at the area)

(literal translation means the "Nut forgot its shell")...
it doesn't mean you have extra coins in your pocket you can forget that you are actually standing on the ground.
Today he lost a customer for life and a friend too...
And with his attitude He's going to lose a lot more and soon his pockets are going to be empty.

Just because a person dresses shabby and comes with coins and money wrapped in a plastic bag doesn't mean the person is a beggar. People just want to be simple and live under the radar.

I was just browsing through youtube and I came by last years Petronas Independence Day advert directed by Yasmin Ahmad.

Its the 2nd day of Raya and the church did a charity race for the church building fund.

The event started at 7am for registration. Then the race started about 8am. Mom and me entered just for fun. Mom was in the ladies veteran (4km) category and I was in the ladies open (6km) category. The event was at the Tasik Permaisuri.

I haven't been there in ages and it has changed a lot. It was like a weekend family resort. Pretty good environment for outdoor activities. The trail was tough. As there was like 45 degree hills to get through. It wasn't just around the lake but it went on Up Hills and into forrest and valleys as well. Really good for cardio training. I had no idea my church members was so fit and healthy. LOL.

Anyways, a pretty good number of church members turn up. Even the priest joined in for the race. Mom won the silver medal for ladies veteran (4km) category and I won the bronze medal for ladies open (6km).

Roses From Who???

I received like 2 dozen of roses this afternoon and it didn't say who was it from... I'm happy at the same time scared and disturbed; and its troubling me...

a weekend at singapore - F1 Grand Prix

I'm home from Singapore and what a weekend I had.
Since the F1 Singapore Grand Prix was going on. It was a hectic weekend at Singapore. I went shopping with my sis, bro in law and my baby niece and the roads were full of people its like walking in the streets of tokyo and new york during peak hours except that from daylight to night time the streets was still full of people at orchard and other shopping districts. What a traffic on 2 legs!

Well besides that there was freebies give aways on the streets as well. And shopping anywhere is crazy because there was a sale of some what going on; and everything was going out like for free! Hehehe...
oh well I got a few things for myself too like an armani exchange black top for SGD 30, a white baby doll top from cotton on for like SGD 5; and a white gown skirt by daniel yam for SGD 29 for my photo shoot. Well the whole family went shopping crazy... because its CHEAP!

Anyways besides shopping we manage to catch the F1 race as well. The first night race on a 1 of only 3 anti-clockwise tracks.

Bro in law got to see it live and the rest of us was watching at home... which was an even better view. Thumbs Up to the broadcasters. Good coverage of the race, great composition of shots and great scenery.
