Migrants and all, we're all Malaysians... the best column I have read this past week

This is the best column I have read this past weeks of politic bickering amongst our nations-men by Kallimullah Hassan (The Colour of Malaysia) on the New Sunday Times. (do read the column for yourself)

Well the column was based on this picture by Lat. The Community Taking Shelter Under the Malaysian Flag.

This is my views to tell... some lines derived from the column stated above.

a verse from the national flag (jalur gemilang) song that should be practised

"JALUR GEMILANG DIBAWAH NAUGANMU, JALUR GEMILANG KAMI SEMUA BERSATU"

"JALUR GEMILANG BENEATH YOUR CARE, JALUR GEMILANG WE UNITE"

Its a sad day for us Malaysians when we have come to the stage where desperate politicians in Malaysia have the tendency to resort to using race and religion to shore themselves up.

"What happen to unity amongst everyone and work for the better for all?"

"Why categorizing us by colour, race or religion?"

Take our current prime minister for example, On his mother's side he has chinese blood. On his father's side he has arab and malay blood. SO what is he? His late wife Datin Seri Endon Mahmood was born to a malay father and a Japanese mother. SO putting them together and their children Nori and Kamal, both often mistaken as chinese. SO What are they?

They are ALL MALAYSIANS!!!!!

Our 1st prime minister was part Thai; the 2nd Bugis; the 3rd is part Turkish; the 4th is of indian descent and the 5th is a mixture of Chinese, Malay and Arab.

Now its sounds like we are all migrants?

So WHO ARE THE MALAYSIANS?

Even I myself don't look like an authentic chinese. I have friends of all sorts of mixture and we call ourselves MALAYSIANS looking past the race, ethnicity, colour, language and religion. We learn together and work together as a team.

This is a picture of us having a concert together bringing all culture and making beautiful music TOGETHER AS ONE.

DO WE LOOK ANY DIFFERENT????

To all Politicians and Leaders of the Country, you should remember the PLEDGE OF OUR NATION, that we recite ever so proudly. The 5 AMBITIONS we lay our pledge on...
